“Facilitating for BrainTrust has enabled me to combine my experience in commercial property; accounting and tax knowledge as a chartered accountant and my enjoyment of empowering others through education. “Having owned my own real estate agency for 5 consecutive years, I had come across some unethical and incompetent estate agents. I fully support the fact that individuals in this profession need to be afforded the necessary training and career development possibilities not to bring the real estate industry into disrepute. I feel my duties as a constituent assessor contribute towards having a well regulated environment in which estate agents can feel proud of their career choice.”

"Coming from a Mine Survey and 3D Underground Mine Design career, it was easy enough to slot into Real Estate. The paperwork is a mere fraction of what was required to learn for Mine Survey and Mine Design. Launched into an area of a couple of thousand townhouses, I gained ample Sectional Title experience in both sales and rentals. I quickly found out that I was recreating paperwork and was teaching experienced agents about their legals, as well as their careers. NQF 4 took a mere 18.5 hours outside of the mandatory four day spaced training. Throughout my Real Estate career that ended as a Team Leader for a small company, I have found that recreating the legal paperwork, and teaching the staff to use such, besides teaching how to improve and utilise their selling skills, became more required of me than actually selling or renting. As such, it was a small step to step into training. Computer skills lead to having training courses designed as slide shows, and almost daily memes created for Facebook to educate and assist agents not only in South Africa, but internationally too, which lead to my training agents all over the country, as well as internationally."
